Last weekend this lesson was illustrated when, while preparing for a very glamorous party, it became clear that bushy black false eyelashes do not work equally well with every outfit and complexion combination.
It was shocking for us, too. But the evaluation and interpretation of this finding had to wait. Colleen needed something different and she needed it in the next five minutes.
Fortunately, in my box of eyelashes, a sample of which can be seen arrayed above, I had a pair of brown lashes.
Yes, brown. Anyone who knows me would ask, "But Cat, why would you have something Not Black in your arsenal?"
To which I would answer, oracle-like "Next time you are on a Walgreens Period Shopping spree and you see something completely right, but totally different from what you usually select, Stop! Purchase it immediately! Because the night out you save could be your own."
The excitingly distinctive brown lash as used in real life. So natural, yet so not. And 100% right.
